Dye Day 1st

1. What we need for dye process:
pot w/ burner, beaker, goggles, gloves, silk, fustic yellow, aluminum potassium

2. Pour certain amount of water in the pot and slightly under-boil it until it steams.

3. Add 1T of mordant which is fustic yellow and 1T of Aluminum Potassium

4. Gently stir..
4. Soak the silk and dump into the pot

5. Let it stay in the pot for certain amount of time and take it out.

6. Rinse and dry

That was about the basic of dying process.
2nd attempt was to create military green by adding Ferrous Sulfas which is iron based.

Add Ferrous Sulfas

Dip previously dyed silk half in and half out to see the difference..

Not much of a difference..

3rd attempt with a cap full of Cupric Sufate

Half in and half out..

Well, little bit of a difference there, but still not much.

Maybe it was the silk itself not reacting well but it certainly worked well with fustic yellow only.
